MONDAY: HIKE / EXPLORE

There are so many places to explore on foot, it's a hiker's paradise! On hike/explore days we split into groups, and head to Mt. Mansfield. Some groups may go for longer hikes like Sterling Pond or summit the gondola, while others will stay shorter on Spruce Peak. Whatever the destination, there's cool stuff everywhere, especially our secret fort village!

TUESDAY: BIKE

Stowe is one of Vermont's best destinations for bike riders of all abilities. We give our campers a choice of all levels of riding; from Stowe's beautiful paved Rec Path, to world-class mountain bike trails, it is challenge by choice.

Learning skills and improving technique is a big part of what we do! We'll hit the best trails: Strawberry Farm to Cady Hill and Adams Camp!

EVERY DAY: THE RIVER

On a hot summer day there's nothing better than a refreshing dip in one of our favorite Stowe river swimming holes. We know all the best spots, some for jumping, some for wading, and some for just hanging out. Our swim areas always have shallow places for younger campers who aren't strong swimmers. These campers may bring flotation devices, if desired. If swimming isn't your thing, we can always skip rocks!

WEDNESDAY: GAMES

We love to play all types of games, including the old favorites like kickball and capure the flag. But we also love getting creative with obstacle courses, fun contests, and even making up our own games. What's your favorite outdoor game? Got any new ones to teach us? Games day usually includes swimming, too!

At Rugged Adventures, we do it all!

Every week includes Stowe's best variety of summer activities.

Olympic Weeks

Olympic Weeks are our favorite Rugged tradition. They include the same schedule of awesome outdoor activites from Classic Day Camp, like hiking, biking, swimming, and  games, plus a fun Olympic twist! During these special weeks, we will spend time each day in the gym at Mt. Mansfield Academy, doing athlete specific workouts, and learning how to train like an Olympian.

FRIDAY: BIKE / ICE CREAM

Best day ever! We will spend the morning riding bikes, and our expert coaches will help campers bring their riding to the next level. Whether you're an experienced mountain biker, or just starting out on the Rec Path, we have groups to challenge all levels. In the afternoon it's time for everybody's favorite, the grand finale: ice cream and swimming!

We will learn about the Olympics, and some Vermont Olympians, to find out what it takes to be like them. This past year, we met with two-time Olympic skier and 2022 silver medalist Ryan Cochran-Siegle. Our campers had a chance to ask Ryan all their questions, and get first-hand advice on how to achieve their own Olympic dreams. Ryan also joined us for some games, and even let us all try on his silver medal! What an incredible experience for all our campers to be inspired by Ryan!

The big finish is hosting our own camp Olympics on Friday, where every camper picks a country to represent, and we challenge ourselves in tons of fun (and silly) events and contests throughout the day.

Beach Week

NO CAMP

Beach Week

For all our lake lovers and reservoir relishers, this holiday-shortened week is a little bit different than the rest. This week there's no mountain biking or hiking: it's all beach, all the time!

We'll get the Rugged raft, and spend each day at a different Vermont State Park beach, including Lake Elmore, Waterbury Center, and a barbeque at a super fun mystery location!

Don't forget your sunscreen, this week is going to be blazing!

Carnival Weeks

Carnival week was a huge hit last summer, and so it's back again twice this year!

Both Carnival weeks will include our regular schedule of Day Camp activities like hiking and biking (see above) plus a super-fun carnival theme throughout the week.

We will also have one special carnival day, including gigantic, inflatable fun like you've never seen before. There will be stupendous slides, boisterous bounce houses, out-of-control obstacle courses, scrumptious snow cones, and games galore. This is going to be a highlight of the summer you do not want to miss!

THURSDAY: BEACH

On many Thursdays, we will travel to one of our nearby Vermont State Park beaches. There, we'll hit up the Rugged Raft, soak in the beautiful scenery, swim, play beach games, and build sand castles. There's nothing better than a Rugged Adventures beach day! On other Thursdays we will have activities pertinent to the week's theme.
